Heath Spark​​

Heath Park Estate, Dagenham Essex 2015

 

An exhibition and outdoor performance, culmination of a 6-month residency bringing arts into the borough.

 

Created with residents and with composer Isa Suarez. Heath Spark investigated our attachments to place and our longing for escape through parkour/freerunning, song, drumming and fire. 

 

Commissioned by Creative Barking & Dagenham as part of Arts Council People & Places fund.

Seek Courage​​

Town Centre, Ashford Kent 2015

 

A  multiplie-location social intervention work looking at the theme of courage. 

 

There were a total of 5 site pieces which included large-scale puppetry, aerialists, choir, skateboarding, sound installation and live art performance. The scenes that unfolded around the wandering public were like moments in time caught live, blurring the line between fantasy and reality.

El Ensueño del Dorado​​

Circo Para Todos, Colombia 2012

 

A contemporary circus production developed at the National Circus School of Colombia Circo Para Todos.

 

Concept development based on combination of Colombian legend and folk combined with regional music. Devised in collaboration with the participating artists.

 

El Ensueño went on to a critically acclaimed national tour in 2013. 

Trial of the Mariner​​

Hoxton Hall, London 2011

 

A multimedia mix of action, puppetry, circus and live junk music that responds to the destruction of our oceans and its effect on climate change. 

 

Set in 2111 a group of desperate sailors embark on the Ship of Fools across the now radioactive oceans. Lost at sea and mad with cabin fever they arrive at the Plastic Continent spinning in the North Pacific Ocean gyre where the unhinged Mariner’s adventures come to life around the audience.

Triangulated City​​

3 site-specific locations, Beirut Lebanon 2009

 

A multi-location live art event that investigated the movement of superstition and rumour that spreads through the streets of Beirut. 

The performance encouraged spectators to view the city as a living performance with each location a place of confrontation and encounter, finding clues, spreading rumours, and locating the next two sites...

Napoli Scorticata​​

O'Theatrone, Naples Italy 2007

 

In the ex-church of Santa Maria Maddalena in the Sanitá district of Naples.

Incorporating the disciplines of Live Art, film, music, dance and scenography, the event engaged the spectator in an immersive interactive environment where they are encouraged to navigate a series Neapolitan stories and legends. The spectators went on a mythic journey, witnessing rites of death and rebirth, experiencing a dream that transcends time.

Co-directed / designed / curated / produced a month-long rotating serialised installation on Charing Cross Rd in central London.
